Job Overview

Powerplant executive monitors the engine by gathering vital engine parameters and measures them for change in trend. The trend changes are based on their co-relation indicate potential issues with the engine. This enables in predicting engine failure and helps improve the engine durability and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review MOC report on a daily basis for Incidents/Defects/ Delays etc., for engine and APU related ATA systems and components and provide necessary technical inputs during daily morning meeting
  • Evaluate AD/SB/SL/SIL/AOT/OIT/other technical publications pertaining to Engines/APUs and provide inputs during monthly ADRM. Ensure timely compliance of the same
  • Prepare/Issue necessary Engineering Instructions or other documents required for compliance of above said documents
  • Keep track of all modifications being accomplished both On-wing and Off-wing
  • Liaison with Engine Manufacturers/OEMs to find short term / long term solutions to in-service problems
  • Supervise (if necessary) and review specialized/critical maintenance tasks such as special borescope, bore-blending etc
  • Control and monitor ECTM and other Powerplant health management program (As required) and initiate corrective actions as appropriate
  • Assist Line Maintenance Department by providing guidance for carrying out necessary troubleshooting, SB compliance, special maintenance procedures etc. as required
  • Analyze reliability data of components regularly and liaise with respective OEMs to provide relevant inputs for improvement in monthly reliability meeting
  • Prepare short term/long term engine removal plans
  • Co-ordinate with various departments to ensure smooth and timely export/Import of all Engines/APUs
  • Regular co-ordination with shops to ensure efficient TAT
  • Review of shop documents while induction Engine/APU back from shop visit for correctness/completeness and Back to birth trace of LLPs
  • Scrutiny of all engine related Monthly PBTH or shop invoices and process for payment by preparing PRF
  • Update data and track Dashboards with respective OEMs at least on Quarterly basis
  • Validation of all invoices raised by engine shop

  • Coordinate with various departments such as MCC, Line Maintenance, Planning, Engineering Purchase, stores etc to ensure smooth and timely completion of various scheduled/special maintenance activities
  • Review OEM Technical Instructions such as CESM / AOM etc. as required and apprise Certifying staff of various in-service problems & fixes through Engg. circular
  • Evaluate new maintenance equipment / GSE related to engines/APU
  • Review Engine/APU Health status and keep E&M management informed, prepared by Executive/Sr. Executive
  • Control and monitor Engine/APU watch list prepared by Executive/Sr. Executive
  • Coordinate with contracted AMOs for all matters related to Engine/APU/ shop visit
  • Control and monitor Engine/APU/Propeller stagger program prepared by Executive/Sr. Executive
  • Review and endorse AD / DGCA Mandatory Modification status for C of A / ARC and lease return (As applicable)
  • Attend the Daily Network Meeting to provide inputs related to Engine/APU after receipt of Inputs from Powerplant on-wing Team
  • Allocate, supervise & manage the work carried out by all Executives/Sr. Executives/Sr. Engineer in the powerplant cell
  • Initiate and Monitor special tasks/projects/retrofit programs
  • Shall collectively and actively participate in the Reliability analysis and provide inputs for continuous reliability improvement
  • Any other task assigned from time to time

Skills & Attributes

  • Proficiency in MS Office including MS Excel and PowerPoint
  • Management skills: To resolve operational challenges & conflicts
  • Good working knowledge on ERP (AMOS preferred)

Work Experience

  • Minimum 15 years of aviation experience with minimum 7 years in Powerplant /Technical Services/Engineering function in any airline or similar experience with OEM

Qualification

  • Degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering/Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering
  • B1 License on any of Vistara Fleet (preferred) or similar fleet
