Job Overview

DGM IT is responsible for managing large & complex strategic IT initiatives across commercial division of Vistara.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with Business unit SMEs, understand the business needs and establish deep understanding of the business functions
  • Develop thorough understanding of business objectives and system/solution needs, the “as is” process and operational challenges to suggest possible automation solutions, including “To be state”
  • Conduct business analysis using well defined and structured approaches, resolve business problems through functional solutions, develop knowledge about competing products available in the market
  • Perform rapid assessment of landscape and provide insights to accelerate action towards refining their current state through digitization and digital transformation
  • Work closely with leaders across different divisions in designing, leading and implementing business transformational programs of varying size and complexity
  • Effectively collaborate with multiple and diverse set of stakeholders in a multi-cultural environment, drive decision making and be the trusted advisor to the stakeholders with tact, courtesy, and professionalism
  • Bring diverse and thought-provoking perspective to transformations, including market trends, new and innovative ideas from own industry experience and market research
  • Explore and co-create solutions that address business needs, maximize adoption and minimize resistance
  • Deploy your core skills (particularly Project Management) to lead the initiative with governance and control, track progress, report on SLAs and KPIs regularly
  • Devise effective change management plans post identifying stakeholder challenges and understanding expectations

Skills & Attributes

  • In-depth hands-on expertise of project management methodologies - project initiation, current state analysis, future state design, process design, implementation, change control upto transition/closure
  • Significant experience in leading transformations and strategic initiatives, and leveraging consulting skills, project and change management as key enablers
  • Expertise in IT service management principles and best practices in a professional services environment
  • Technical aptitude with a high degree of problem solving and decision making, Overarching understanding the technical platforms and architectural integrations
  • Expertise in all aspects of system analysis, design, development, maintenance, deployment, change control and production support in Microsoft technology stack
  • In-depth knowledge of with SDLC and STLC: Agile, Waterfall, Spiral, V model, Iterative & prototype model
  • Experience in System architecture and solution design using industry standard methodologies such as TOGAF, Design thinking etc.
  • Working knowledge of industry standard quality management processes like CMMi, six sigma

Work Experience

  • Airline/GDS/PSS experience is mandatory, preferably on reservation systems and e commerce
  • A minimum of 3 years operating at a Senior Manager level within an IT or business organization
  • Managed a team of 5 or more IT professionals in a matrix organization


  • BE/ B Tech (IT/ Computer Science) or MCA/ M. Sc. Computer Science & Engineering or MBA in IT management
  • Working knowledge on multiple frameworks such as PMP, Prince2, CMMi, Agile/Scrum/ITIL
