Sr. Executive - Crew Systems

Job Overview

The role entails handling end-to-end system requirements for the department. It will involve coordinating with various stake holders to ensure overall smooth functioning of systems and timely resolution of issues arising with focus on product and process knowledge. The holder of the position will be responsible for analyzing system-related requirements and developing them.

Key Responsibilities

• To act as the bridge between the planning teams, IT and Product/systems teams to ensure smooth coordination of system related updates and change requirements
• To customize and maintain data and user interfaces and system functionalities using programming through technical development
• To develop and maintain rules, e-tables, cost functions, quality constraints, reports, and scripts
• To fine tune and optimize the solutions produced when rules are added or changed
• To assist with system testing and debugging and prepare test cases
• To maintain all systems reference manuals
• To collaborate and communicate effectively with manpower, crew pairing and rostering expert users
• To provide 1st level helpdesk support to users by conducting basic troubleshooting of system(s)
• To customize and maintain data and user interfaces and system functionalities for Jeppesen crew pairing and rostering systems through technical development
• To fine tune and optimize the solutions produced when rules are added or changed
• To assist with system testing and debugging and prepare test cases
• To perform tasks as required by Manager- Ground Training Planning & Systems

Skills & Attributes

• Possess strong software development skills, preferably in a UNIX environment
• Creative problem-solving capability, analytical and listening skills
• Excellent communication skills and command of the English Language
• Experience in maintaining and tuning optimality of the solutions provided when rules are added or changed
• Experience in application management and providing technical support to the end-users
• Ability to translate business requirements to specifications
• Ability to write clear analysis, design, and test documentation

Work Experience

• Airline experience, preferably in Crew Management
• Knowledge of RAVE preferred
• Work experience in Agile model is advantageous
• Knowledge of Eclipse IDE, Mercurial and Java preferred
• Experience using test tools such as Gherkin and Behave would be a plus
• Knowledge of development using the Eclipse RCP framework is preferred
• Experience in using versioning systems (Mercurial) and continuous delivery process (Jenkins, Maven, RPM) is highly preferred
• Experience in Linux environment is preferred

Qualification

• A degree in Science/Computer Science/Information Technology, Software Engineering or other related discipline; Advanced degree related to Analytics, Machine Learning and AI preferred
• Knowledge of Jeppesen Crew Planning systems (Pairing/Rostering/Manpower) is preferred
• Knowledge in Python is preferred.
